It is the market that asks us for the best product for the protection of plastic products from rodents in compliance with EU regulation no. 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 May 2012, relating to the making available on the market and the use of biocidal products. The new formula is based on micrometric chemical compounds not regulated in the list of biocides, therefore our additive does not require an authorization (BPR). The active substance of ADM-ROD-01 is not listed in the list of prohibited substances of the Ministry of the Environment which indicate the precautionary provisions (restrictions, prohibitions, etc.) adopted pursuant to: Regulation (EC) no. 1907/2006 on chemicals (REACH regulation) and subsequent amendments and additions; Regulation (EC) n. 850/2004 on persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and subsequent amendments and additions; Regulation (EC) n. 1005/2009 on substances that reduce the ozone layer and subsequent modifications and additions. The active substance of ADM-ROD-01 is not listed in the substance list according to Article 95 (1) of the Biocidal Products Regulation, ECHA publishes a list of relevant substances and their respective suppliers of substances and products. The ADM-ROD-01 masterbatch consists of non-migratory micrometric powders stable at extrusion temperatures. Its particular chemical composition is designed to lower the risk of dangerousness of the ingredient capable of making the polymer unpleasant to the taste. It is not a food contact even if the active ingredient used is pharmacological. For correct use of the product, read the safety data sheet. It is produced on universal support (EVA). Fields of Application: The ADM-ROD-01 masterbatch is recommended for the transformation of all polyolefin polymers, rubber, PVC and more. We consider a primary use in the field of electric cables that require permanent protection from rodents, but also for:
- agriculture: mulching and silage (wild animals and repellent rodents)
- industrial packaging: bags and big bags (rodent repellent)
- envelopes for the packaging of textile articles, it also works as anti-termites
- electrical and telephone pipes, optical fiber, electrical panels and switches.
- in garbage cans and bins, household appliances, PVC pipes, rubber for the automotive sector and others.
WHO estimates that 26% of electrical and telephone cables and 25% of fires of unknown origin is attributed to rodent activity.
Compliance:ADM-ROD-01 complies with directive 2011/65 / EU which provides for the restriction of the use of certain dangerous substances in electrical and electronic equipment such as: Pb, Cd, CrVI, PBD, PBDE
and EU directive 2015/863 that modifies ANNEX II with a ban on 4 phthalates: DEHP-BBP-DBP-DIBP.
The legislation entered into force on 22/07/19.
Dosage: To produce the polymer: Add 3% to 5% by mass.
